Do Orthotics Prevent Injuries? A Meta-Analysis

This is a systematic review looking at shock absorbing insoles, and CFO and PFO- though NOT comparing the FO's against each other. The key take home point is that BOTH the CFO and PFO interventions reduced the incidence of bone and stress-reaction forms of injury, but NOT, soft tissue injury such as tendinopathy. Both forms of orthoses performed better than the shock absorbing insole.
